Vinay Bhargav who is the Forest Conservator of the Yamuna Circle of the Uttarakhand Forest Department stated that they have been able to identify 15 possible trekkable sites in the state’s forest where people can trek. The trails can be chosen based on the duration of the vacation and can even opt for routes which would involve trekking 2.5 km in a day to even 65 km-long treks that can last a week. For treks like this one, homestays and stay in nature camps are available for six such trekking routes.

There are also British-era forest rest houses along the trail where the visitors can stay or rest for a while.

List of the lesser-known sites are:

• Naada

• Konain

• Kudog

• Daragad

• Budher

• Jakh

• Deoban

• Mundali

• Kahtiyan

• Kanasar

The 65 km long trail which is known as the Thadiyar March was developed by the British with the intention of educating young forest service probationers about the nuances of forestry. The plan is to first modify and possibly open this Thadiyar march to the public in the month of April since this trail traverses picturesque hills whose elevations range from 542 metres to 3,067 metres in the Chakrata area.
