Waking Up In A Cave Hotel In Cappadocia

Koza Cave Hotel is a family run eco-friendly hotel. It is decorated with recycled materials and local handcrafted furniture.

We stayed in the Junior Suite. The rooms are built into the cave and have beautiful outdoor sit outs.

The hotel has the highest rooftop in Göreme with 360° panaromic views and i couldn’t have asked for a better place to experience the sunrise in Cappadocia.

Every morning more than a hundred balloons rise over Göreme at sunrise. We had to wake up early and be on the terrace by 5:30 am. It was still dark and cold and we eagerly waited for the balloons to go up.

The hot air balloons are cancelled if the weather conditions are not suitable for flight. I couldn’t control my excitement on seeing the balloons filled up and ready to take off.

Visiting Cappadocia was like living in a dreamland for a few days. You wake up in a cave to hundreds of balloons rising with the sun and you are surrounded by surreal landscapes.

I wouldn’t mind waking up at 5am every morning to witness this magical sight.

You can see balloons all around the terrace. On some days , the balloons come very close to the cave hotels and you can even speak with the passengers on it.

The rooftop has the perfect view of balloons rising at sunrise and is decorated with huge colourful pillows and Turkish rugs. No wonder its become an Instagram sensation.

Images and videos taken from this rooftop have gone viral on all social media platforms.

I made some new friends from different parts of the world. We had such an amazing time that morning.
