Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India is one of the most spiritual places in India which has been bringing people and travelers of different faiths and religions together.

This travel blog is featuring my travel experience to Golden Temple or the Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, India. A temple which is an epitome of spirituality, brotherhood and peace has a very special place in my heart. A temple which never sleeps, open for 24/7 hours for 365 daysfor everyone irrespective of caste, creed, color or religion. Home to the eternal guru of the Sikh, the Guru Granth Sahib, Amritsar which translates as pool of nectar takes its name from the Amrit Sarovar, the holy waters of the Golden temple.
I first visited Golden Temple at the age of 10 but I was too young to realize the importance of the temple. But now in 2021, when I visited Golden Temple again after 14 years, I was flabbergasted to witness the aura of the Golden Temple.
Outside, joining the gentle flow of people circumnavigating the holy lake, I watched as men dipped and ducked into the holy waters believing in the water's healing powers.
I believe it's one of the world's great sights, for its ornate golden detail and domes, the placid waters and the cool marble surrounds. Most of all, it is a testament to what you cannot see: the hundreds of unseen devotees working every day to ensure the Golden Temple glides on, effortlessly.
The best moment while you are present in the premises of the Golden Temple is when you hear people chanting the Guru Granth Sahib and you just feel relaxed and you can sit on the cool marble that lines the walkways and buildings that surround the lake and the temple.
We all know that no one goes hungry from a Gurudwara and when we talk about Langar, it's surprising to know that Golden Temple feeds fifty thousand to One lakh (50k to 1 Lakh) per day. And volunteers from different nationalities and faiths come together in harmony and brotherhood to feed the community.
At last I would just say that if you still haven't visited The Harmandir Sahib or The Golden Temple yet, do visit the temple because there are not so many places in the world that offer such peace, the sense of belonging and beauty.
