This was a kind of dream trip for me. All thanks to this work from home.I had always thought of staying in goa for atleast a month but due to work constraints was not possible for me but this time it happened.
This was my 6th trip to goa but always I used to visit North goa but this time I thought to explore south goa. I think that was the best decision.
So, instead of writing long story, I will just list down all of my findings which will help you to plan your trip to south goa for both long as well as short trip.
Choice of stays...
1. If going for long stay like work trip then plan to stay near palolem or patnem beach because other than that all other beaches like agonda, cola has network issues.
2. South goa is not like North goa having lots of apartment option but yes only near patnem beach you can find some cheaper options available which you can rent for a month in hardly 15k or 20k , 2bhk.
3. If you Aree looking for a beach stay then go for beach huts on palolem like cozy nook, dream catcher which are so beautiful.
Some other properties near beaches crystal goa patnem as well as palolem is too good and they provide breakfast as well.
Cafes for work from home..
1. Nireas - This placeI would love to go again n again, calm environment, healthy food, comfortable sitting, definitely try if you stay near palolem.
Best hummus I ever had at this place.
2 Cesare - very small place but food is just awesome, pocket friendly and home like food.
But I would recommend this place because of friendliness of staff.
3 Bhakti kutir - surrounded by greenery, very calm place to work, read or just connect with nature.
Even you can go for massage they have massage centre as well which is just amazing to give you relaxation. Also, it's reasonable.
4 Lost hostel - most happening places to meet travellers like you with friendly environment.
Above are my favorite ones, you can try others as well like
Bhibhitaki
Zest
The Mill
Offbeat places to explore:
1. Sadolexm bridge - This small bridge is build on the Talpona river and connects Canacona district to Poinguinim district. Definitely should go a ride to this place, You get to see a beautiful and peaceful pathway to this bridge, driving through the roads near this bridge during early hours of morning will give an experience of real south Goa, or how it used to be some 15 years back (feeling raw and untouched nature).
And this bridge in itself gives the feeling of some old architecture made brilliantly with limited technology.
Recommendation: Drive there early morning and get the feeling of sunrise, flowing river and greenery all around and only 3km from this place there is a beautiful and virgin beach of Talpona(must visit).
2. Kakolem beach - One of the most picturesque secluded beaches of south Goa.Isn't it amazing to see waterfall and beach at the same place where waterfall meeting the beach
3. Cola beach - Amazing beach for kayaking. Beautiful blue logoon not to miss on this beach.
4. The tribe - if you want to get the feel of jungle, wilderness, do visit this place. on the way from palolem to Agonda, we saw a board of a hidden place in the Jungles. When we went there, we saw this beautiful and peaceful place in the jungle.
Varied types of sittings with one common thing, all sitting places were perfectly surrounded by a lot of greenery.
No wifi, no network. Just sit with friends and talk. Read some books and enjoy the freedom.
Fun things to do in South Goa
1. Open air movie night at patem beach.
2. Bliss circus at bhakti kutir.
3. Amazing live music at del Mar shack palolem.
4. Watch sunset from Laguna vista near patnem beach. You will be in love with that place.
I hope this will help you plan your South goa trip.
