Cambodia is known for ancient temples, Buddhist monks and a fantastic tropical landscape. In my last trip to Cambodia, I was fortunate to experience all these three elements together.
The monks, especially the young ones, try and keep their distance from the crowd of tourists. But I was there for a long time, almost until the temple was about to get closed for the day. A bunch of the monks came out, and were nice enough to interact with me.
They were like other teenagers, enjoying the evening, while clicking one another and chatting.
A majority of them come from the villages, while their education, food and boarding are taken care of by the organisation, managing their life.
As I spent some time with them, with another local photographer, they finally told us to take a picture of theirs together. We were happy to oblige.
