Trip to San Simeon from LA

San Simeon is a small town between LA and SFO. A   very quiet town engulfed by mountains and the pacific ocean

While scouting for locations to stop at while driving from Vegas to SFO San Simeon was the 1st location that popped out . This town is 230 miles from LA and SFO

HOW TO REACH

You can enjoy the scenic drive at Route 1 to reach San Simeon . Not much traffic to deal with . You can drive to your destination enjoying the scenic beauty

WHERE TO STAY

We enjoyed our stay at The Morgan's A very small hotel with the basic amenities.  Would definitely recommend this hotel. You can hear the sound of the waves from your hotel room. They have a decent to go complementary breakfast .It's a 3 star hotel.We payed around $120 for 2 queen bed .

PLACES TO SEE

HEARST CASTLE - daily tours are provided of the magnanimous Hearst Castle. We missed seeing this place since the castle was temporarily closed for road repair

ELEPHANT SEAL VISTA POINT- We enjoyed looking at the bunch of Elephant seal relaxing at the beach . It was fun learning the facts about the seal . A baby elephant seal weighs around 5o pounds.

PIEDRAS BLANCA LIGHTSTATION

We drove past the lighstation ..clearly visible on the drive .

SAN SIMEON BEACHES AND BAY

Beautiful view of the ocean from the different view points . The best part is that the view points are not crowded at all .
