Mendocino became most favorite beach town within 24 hours as you know from my last post and I know it will not change for long. Someday, I just walk around that town, exploring everything on foot. Very few destinations have been able to hold my attention so long and Mendocino is surely one of them. What did I like about Mendocino? Almost everything, I would say. The vibes of this beach town are so unique, positive and awesome that it would be tough for you to control the spirit.
Today I am going to talk about another state park of Mendocino - The Russian Gulch State Park. If you have seen that iconic picture of reverse half crescent bridge postcard and have been wondering where it is.....welcome to the heaven! That insta post of mine pulled up so many inquiries about the place, I was inspired to write a photo story about it. And here we are....
Spread over 400-hectares, Russian Gulch State park is situated in north of Mendocino. Whether you are a hiker, climber, beachcomber, photographer or a camper, this state park surely needs a day or two of yours. From the highest waterfall of Mendocino to the historic arch bridge and fern canyons, this park has lot to offer to everyone.
Claimed as Mendocino's one of the most popular hiking destination, the trail to the majestic waterfall is an amazing experience for beginner and mid level hikers. But let me ask the camper soul in you - how would you like to camp at the bottom of that photogenic Russian Gulch Bridge-a 160-metre-long concrete arch that spans Russian Gulch Creek's sandy cove-connects the park's dramatic coastal side and tree-hugging inland side? I know you are excited and so I was. Unfortunately, I could take pictures only but dream to camp in Russian Gulch State Park is still alive. Will you join me?
And now, treat time 🙂
