7 free things to do in Singapore!

Yes, you read that right. Here's a list of 7 awesome and absolutely free things to do in Singapore!

Singapore is one of the leading tourist destinations and you can witness everything here - beautiful gardens, Michelin star restaurants, luxury malls, tall buildings, art museums, interesting cafes, heritage sights and vibrant city lights.

While there are many free things to do in Singapore, these are my top 7 that you shouldn't miss! Enjoy the budget-friendly trip you have always dreamed of.

1. Fort Canning Park and Tree Tunnel

Fort canning Park is a prominent hill, in the southeast portion of Singapore. This Park features nine historical gardens that are vibrant and captivating. You will be surrounded by lush greenery, large and beautiful lawns, and there are also multiple art and heritage sights that you can admire. It's a great way to spend the time in tranquility and with a picturesque view.

Fort canning tree tunnel - has gained its fame through Instagram. It is now one of the most Instagrammed photo spots in Singapore. This spiral staircase is a hotspot for wedding photographers and Influencers. When I went there, I saw a pre-wedding shoot going on - the photos came out so epically awesome!

It's best to go here during the mornings or in the evenings, you might find a long line here - but we were lucky enough to not.

The nearest MRT is Dhoby Ghaut station. It is very easy to get here, just use the covered escalators from Fort Canning MRT station, merely a walk away.

2. Gardens by the Bay light show -

Garden Rhapsody is an exotic experience at one of the most renowned attractions in Singapore - Gardens by the Bay. To visit the other attractions in Gardens by the Bay, tickets are required but this show is for free and it's a must experience!

It's a magnificent display of music and lights at the Supertree Grove! The Supertrees light up with dazzling colours and it feels magical. It is a sight to witness! It lasts for about 10-15 minutes and I'd suggest going earlier so you can get some good seats. It's going to be pretty crowded.

This show is daily and the timings are 7.45pm and 8.45pm. You can go early evening, take a stroll to admire their creativity and then wait until the end of the show.

This iconic landmark is not to be missed. Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore. It is depicted as a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.

You can enjoy a stroll here, admire the beautiful structure of Marina Bay Sands, see the tall Singapore Skyscrapers and take many postcard photos that you can forever cherish.

The best time to go here would be at night when the city is illuminated with lights but afternoon or evening works too.

This grand mosque was built in the year 1824 for Sultan Hussein Shah, the first sultan of Singapore, it was later rebuilt in by Singapore's oldest architectural firm. It is home to golden domes and a huge prayer hall. There's a beautiful story behind the domes, each dome base is decorated with glass bottle ends, donated by lower-income Muslims during its construction so that all Muslims, not just the rich, could contribute.

If you happen to be there during Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting, do not miss the night market and its spread of delicious food varieties.

A lovely place with a beautiful history.
