One of the best options, how to spend an afternoon in Bratislava is to combine the voyage and visit of a gallery. Do you think it is not possible? It is! Just go to the Passenger Port in Fajnovoro nabrezie 2, buy the combined return ticket for the boat, including the museum entry fee, for 10 € per person and get on the boat, that will carry you to the Danubiana Maulensteen Art Museum. After leaving the port, enjoy an hour long cruise on river Danube, 2 hours long visit in the Danubiana gallery and then cruise back to Bratislava.
Passenger port in Bratislava
From the 1st May till the 25th October the ship departures every Saturday and Sunday and even on public holidays – 1st May, 8th May, 1st September and 15th September at 13:30. You can get the tickets personally in the Passenger Port 30 minutes before departure or you can book them in advance for example here.
You can travel there also by bus, but I recommend you to go by boat. The final stop of bus is in the village Čuňovo and then you have to walk quite long and find the way to the gallery and that´s not easy at all.
Our boat is the second one
I´m not going to tell you anything about the exhibitions, because the exhibitions are regularly changed every 2-3 months, so there is always something new to see. During my visit to the gallery I personally liked the exhibition of photos of famous Slovak photographer – Karol Kállay. For the information about current exhibitions click on this link.
I wish you a nice afternoon.
