Flying High Without Wings, Paragliding in Bir #Himachal

In the month of April 2019 me and one of my friend decided to travel Bir which is situated in Himachal. So we started our journey from Chandigarh by a private Volvo bus.

Bir Billing is a small village located in the kangra Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh and known as the paragliding capital of the country. Bir Billing is also known to be one of the best place in the whole world for Paragliding. Apart from paragliding Bir Billing is also surrounded by some beautiful tea gardens.

The main city also has some beautiful Buddhist monasteries. The city is also home to a small Tibetan refugee settlement with several Buddhist monasteries and a large stupa. That's why one can witness the whole city decorated with Buddhist prayer flags.

Billing is known to be as the take-off site for paragliding, whereas Bir is the small village situated at the landing site for paragliding. Bir is surrounded by the very famous Dhauladhar mountains range of himachal. Also, one can witness the best sunset from the landing area. Sky full of paragliders and alluring sunset view at the background is a view in itself.

One can explore the tea gardens and can also try their hands on paragliding. Apart form this you'll find many small and beautiful cafes and eateries at the landing area. Trying the local fruit wine is a must, there are several stores located in bir.

To reach Bir one can take the himachal Volvo or the kangra's toy train. The train ticket booking can be done at the station itself
