Took off to Jahania beach with friends. 70 to 75 km from Bhubaneswar. This beach popularly known as Pir Jahania is packed during the year end and early January as people flock for picnics. We choose a place just 2 km from this beach. This beach we went to had tents for overnight stay and was completely serene and peaceful. Some locals manage the tents and the cost was Rs 1500/ person which includes dinner and breakfast. Only local cuisine available which consists of fish meal for dinner but for chicken and other stuff it has to be pre ordered over phone. Makeshift toilets are there for the guests. Don't expect a five star accomodation but you will surely enjoy the serene beach and the bon fire and gaze the stars at night which is worth.
From Bhubaneswar you can travel by bus or by hiring a taxi to Astaranga bazaar and the beach is only 5 km from Astaranga.
