The National Parks in India are the biggest attraction to the wildlife lovers, but due to the restrictions involved and the immense pressure of tourism the real jungle experience is limited.
Here is an unique experience, where besides enjoying the national parks traditionally by jeeps, we move on to such many undisturbed areas where wilderness experience is at its very best.
This safari offers high adventure, opportunity to view animals of the Indian jungle, drive through rugged hills, beautiful streams and rivers, tribal villages, ancient temples and forts and home to the Royal Bengal Tiger.
There is no electricity at campsites and accommodation is basic in tents with cots. Care is taken to provide personalized service and comforts. Camp cooks turn out delicious fresh meals to be enjoyed in exhilarating surroundings.
The safari operates from November to March and the number of guests is restricted to groups of 4 /6 / 8 to provide good interaction and minimize pressure on camping out experience. All the safaris are accompanied by a team of trained experienced naturalist and a camp core team.
Satpura National Park is located in district Hoshangabad of Madhya Pradesh in India. It gets the name from Satpura hill ranges (Mahadeo hills).
It covers an area of 524 km2 (202 sq mi). Satpura National Park, and along with the adjoining Bori and Panchmarhi Sanctuaries, provides 1,427 km2 (551 sq mi) of unique Central Indian Highland ecosystem.
The terrain of the national park is extremely rugged and consists of sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, ravines and dense forests. The altitude ranges from 300 to 1,352 metres (980 to 4,436 ft). It has Dhoopgarh peak as high as 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) and the almost level plains of Churna.
Satpura National Park, being part of a unique ecosystem, is very rich in biodiversity.
Day 01: After reaching Bhopal (by air or by train) you will be met by our representative and transferred to MPT resort – Tawa Dam, visiting Bhimbetka en-route, from Tawa Dam you would be transferred to Denwa Backwater Escape, by boat (2.5 hrs).
You will arrive at Satpura National Park and check in at Denwa Backwater Escape.
The Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka lie in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh, 45 km south of Bhopal at the southern edge of the Vindhyachal hills.The rock shelters and caves of Bhimbetka have a number of interesting paintings which depict the lives and times of the people who lived in the caves, including scenes of childbirth, communal dancing and drinking, and religious rites and burials, as well as the natural environment around them.
Day 02: After breakfast you will drive 02 hours to reach the starting point of Mobile Safari. Start 03 hours trek to downhill through lovely Sal forest inside Satpura National Park to reach Village Kanjighat for a hot lunch. After lunch trek further 2 hours to reach Mobile camp 01 (Camp
Bandhan), Retire at camp Bandhan for overnight stay. Bandhan is a small forest patrolling camp located deep in the Satpura Jungles, this camp is on the edge of a stream.This is retracing the trail by Capt J Forsyth of Bengal Lancer done about 150 years back.
Day 03: Start full day walking to next camp through Satpura National Park. Today will be a picnic packed lunch at Jhela Village about 3 hours away. After lunch walk another 3 hours to Camp Manakachar
Day 4: After breakfast at your camp you will start 02 hours walk to the road head to be met by waiting vehicles and drive 2 hours to Denwa Back Water Escape, night Safari in the Evening and Overnight stay at the Lodge.
Day 05: You will start your day with an early morning Jeep Safari in the National Park, and an Evening Jeep Safari in the Tiger reserve later in the evening.
Day 06: Go for a full day safari in the Churna zone of the park, the lunch will be served hot at the forest rest house inside the park, and overnight stay at the lodge
Day 07: Breakfast in the morning, transfer to Bhopal for further connections.
