At 06.20 AM as the Trujet pilot readies the plane for a push back and is ready to take off, I sit by the window seat looking at the morning rays gleaming sheepishly thru the plane's windows looking at the maiden passengers to Ballari flying for the first time from Hyderabad. This is the maiden flight of Trujet from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, Hyderabad (VOHS) to Vidya Nagar Airport, Ballari (VOBI).

All checks done, passengers eager for the take-off with their seat-belts fastened and peeping through the windows, cargo loaded, all safety aspects checked, and the door of the aircraft closed by the Cabin crew, the pilot sought the ATC clearance and slowly the aircraft started its push back to the airstrip.

The metal bird was finally flying in the air. And this journey was special because it was a maiden flight to Ballari in Karnataka. The service to this Tier II city of Ballari was started by Trujet Airlines.

Hampi got closer to Hyderabad with the start of this service. Fly to Ballari from Hyderabad, get into a car to Hampi which is just 38 kilometers from the Airport and you can have your breakfast there.

Sounds interesting?

There were no clouds to welcome us, only the gleam of the shinning Sun as the Plane started it's descent to land at Vidya Nagar Airport, 30 kilometers from Ballari. The wheels touched the runway at 07.25 AM, and the pilot announced the customary, "thank you for flying Trujet" message and we were out of the plane. Head straight to Hampi via Kamalapur, your breakfast is waiting!

In Hampi, see the Queen's Bath, Lotus Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Vithala Temple, Hazara rama Temple, Stone Chariot,Elephant Stable, Hampi Bazar and watch the Sunset from the Sunset point.

Go to Tungabhadra Dam and Munirabad Dam and feel the beauty of Nature.
