Hola!!!

Aug'18....it was, when I had my first solo trip to....Barcelona - City of Gaudi, where different cultures are blended together, home of Camp Nou and foodies heaven, which became popular after hosting 1992 Olympics.

All packed !!! full of mixed feelings

Day 1

I boarded into flight from Oslo to Barcelona which took 3 hrs to reach Barcelona new airport. Half a day went well to reach my hostel and doing check in formalities. So I had roamed around near by places.

**Casa Batllò- One of the famous masterpiece designed by Antoni Gaudì. I had bought online tickets to avoid long queue in the entrance.

You can either buy online tickets from the official site of Casa Batllò or ask your hotel to book for you.

**Casa Milà- Another architecture designed by Gaudì, just on the opposite side of the road. I didn't go inside of this.....and saved some bucks to spend somewhere else 😎

Both the place are very well connected with buses & subway.

**La Rambla- Must visit
A place to be for shopping, strolling and night life.
It is wide pedestrian street, shaded by lush green trees, and surrounded on both sides by beautiful historic buildings, tented restaurants along the way. Full of caricature artists, strolling entertainers, and interesting people hhst ends at historic Columbus Monument at the port side of the Ramblas.

It was the perfect end to a busy day of sightseeing and just the beginning of the exciting night life in Barcelona.

Day 2

On my second day of trip, I took free waking tour of the old Barcelona( Gothic Quarter), which started from my hostel (tour guide picked me up and other people on our way to the start point). Truly speaking that was best part of my trip. I'll definitely recommend these kind walking tours whenever traveling in Europe.

Points to keep in mind before going to walking tours.
1. Always take water bottle and some snacks with you.
2. Only sports shoes or sports sandals.
3. Better to ask to your hotel or hostel before booking. They will definitely suggest the better.
4. Do not avoid breakfast, as there will be walking and walking with so much fun.

On the second half of my day after walking tours, I went to Park Guell & Ka Sagrada Familia and in the end I got chance to see
Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.

**Park Guell is where Antoni Gaudì turned his hand & imagination to landscape gardening. I was totally mesmerized with enchanting beauty of this place. Very popular place so better to purchase tickets online.

**La Sagada Familia is a giant Basilica that has been under construction since 1882 and it's expected to be completed in 2026. Main tourist attraction so ho ahead with pre-booking.

**Magic Fountain of Montjuïc....I got to know about this fountain show from my hostel staff.
I would recommend to check show's date & timing with your hotel before itself.

It was a spectacular display of colour, light, motion, music and water acrobatics - if you mix these elements together in just the right combinations, you end up with pure magic!!

This how my second day in Barcelona ended magically.

Day 3

On my last day of trip, I went to see Aquarium(one of the largest in Europe, perfect place for family), did some window shopping in Barcelona central shopping centre (just to avoide the heat, I have planned both places in between noon).

And then finally headed towards.....yep!!! **Camp Nou **🙌 it was.
If you are football fan, this should be the first place to go 🤟.........I can't articulate the experience, I had in Camp Nou. It was beyond everything. Inside the campus apart from stadium one can have so many things to see.

After my long busy bit tiring day, I went to **Barceloneta beach** and took a walk on the beach along the coast. Perfect gateway to enjoy the evening, very clean and peaceful. Beware of pocket picker while strolling along the beach.

And at the end of day I went to watch flamenco dance show at **Plaça Reial**plaza, which hosts many restaurants and night clubs. It is close to la rambla street.

This plaza also have one and only government architecture designed by Gaudì during his college days(got to know this fact during walking tour).

Here it came...end of the beautiful and most memorable and colourful trip, which gave me enthusiasm to travel solo 🎒.
