Day 1

Ever wondered planning a trip by yourself is a scary task, that too when it's the first time!! Well after reading this , definitely it's not going to be so... Anyone who is afraid to take that simple step of just booking your flight and hotel, well it's time to do it, just step out and fly....🛫 It's definitely worth it!!

We started out from Bangalore on a night flight and landed in Don-Mueng airport in Bangkok, got done with immigration and checked into our hotel in the next day morning, but unfortunately our check-in was in the afternoon and no rooms were vacant to occupy even after we agreed to pay. So we kept our luggages at the  lobby and  freshened up  and decided to explore the neighborhood, try out some street food and also to check out the nearby  mall .Finding up options for non-veggies like us without pork was little difficult,so our resort was always on McD in the nearby mall. 😋
Booked this resort through Goibibo at an amazing deal ,and I loved every bit of it. Very calm and relaxing hotel and 10mins walk to On Nut BTS station which has access to all the SkyTrain network and Century Plaza Mall (one of the best part of our stay).
Then we came back to our room and took rest for a while . We headed out to the mall, had our late lunch and decided to go for Calypso Cabaret show at the Asiatique which is such an amazing place with night market that would make u go crazy with all cheaper stalls with plenty of shopping options. We watched the show and did some shopping and returned back to our hotel .

Day 2

Our second day in Bangkok, we decided to see some attractive tourist spot, so we made our way to the Grand Palace. We took the BTS and then ferry to reach the place. Once you step out on the pier, there is a huge market on the way to Grand Palace. Bought ourselves the tickets and went inside the palace to check out. Make sure to cover your shoulders and legs otherwise you could buy or rent pants/tees from outside shops of the palace.  Tickets worth 500THB  would  give  you  an  entry  to Grand Palace and Wat  Pho (temple of Emerald Buddha). This would be a half day tour. We picked our lunch and reached back the hotel to visit the Siam area which is popular among tourist . We booked our tickets to Madam Tussauds through Klook at discount and explored the wax statues along with a 4D show of Ice-age. We roamed through the Siam Discovery mall and decided to check out Soi Cowboy which is a popular night street ,this is close to our resort too. We grabbed our dinner on the way from Seven -eleven store and that's the end of day 2 at Bangkok.

Day 3

This being our last day in Bangkok, we decided to do some street shopping and headed towards Chatuchak market. Unfortunately this is a weekend market and we had to come back being extremely disappointed of not being able to shop. Then the nearby shopping place is Platinum Fashion Mall. It's similar to those Shopping Plazas that we find in India. We did some last minute shopping and headed to our resort as we had to pack and go to Suwarnabhumi airport to catch our next flight!!

Day 4

Tadaaaa!! Our Day 4 is in Phuket and we were there only for a day. We reached the previous day night at our hotel named Pacific Inn (booked through Agoda) in Old Phuket town. We woke up ,took a mini tour of the neighborhood as we had to book our half day Island tour. We made the booking through Trip Advisor the prior day for 3 Khai Island and phi phi island speed boat tour, but unfortunately the tour got cancelled from the operators end so we had to do some last minute booking from nearby agents and booked our half day speed boat tour to Coral Island. The old Phuket town is really amazing with its own unique architectures(we couldn't explore much of it because of time constraints). We had our breakfast from this nearby antique cafe called Ban Roen Chit with board games, gramaphone, outdoor seating, shelves with lots of books..
Spent our day in coral island and headed back to hotel. We freshened up and decided to get ourselves a Thai massage (how does Thailand trip get complete without a Thai massage 😉 ). Then we headed out from the SPA and walked through the amazing Street of Phuket town. Did some local shopping, explored the streets(there're so many cafes to explore nearby), had our dinner and Day 4 is over. That was our one day well spent in Phuket.

Day 5

So here comes the end to our self planned 4 day Thailand trip. Definitely  not enough to explore the beautiful country. I'm in so much love with this place and this was our first international trip together with lots of doubts at initial stage, but gradually loved going with the flow. Would definitely come back sometime to explore more of it,shop and relax!

Tip:
Cling onto your inquisitive mind and do some research as to where all you would like to cover. 2019 is a year where Thailand is inviting more of the tourists with free visa on arrival,so just get the most of it!
"Grab taxi" would be better if you prefer to get around in cabs, although they are pricey when compared to Indian cab options. The places are well connected by BTS and ferry so one could opt in public transport without any hassle. Reaching from one destination to other is quite far ,so plan your days accordingly so that you get much out of your trip!! We had initially planned to cover many places in our itinerary ,but couldn't cover many of it due to the distance of getting around!
Getting around in Phuket is little challenging as there were no other option but walk or hire a meter taxi.Tuk tuk is always at your doorstep, but since bargaining with them is little difficult,we decided not to try out!

Bye for now to the country that gave a wonderful experience and memories to cherish!!

Hi folks,
