How to reach City from Airport?
From Airport to City:
A1 Don Muang Airport - Mochit BTS - Mochit 2 / Northeastern Bus Terminal
A2 Don Muang Airport - Mochit BTS - Saphan Kwai BTS - Ari BTS - Sanam Pao BTS - Victory Monument
A3 Don Muang Airport - Ratchadamri BTS
A4 Don Muang Airport - Ban Phra Athit - Sanamluang Bus Terminal
I stayed near Khao San Road near the Chao Praya River, so I took an A4 bus(AC Bus). Depending on the Area you stay you can take the buses above. Bangkok is well connected with Metro, Bus, and Train so you don’t need a Tuk Tuk that will cost twice the price compared to other means of transport. Tuk Tuk drivers will loot you as you are a tourist. Buses are the best as most of them are air-conditioned. Traveling by bus would cost you 6.50thb to 13thb while in Tuk Tuk or Motor Bike taxi will cost 100THB to 200THB for the same. Another convenient way is to Download the Grab app and book Taxi or Bike on the App. The minimum fare starts from 35 for Grab Bike.
Hotel In Bangkok First Day - 240THB/night for Capsule Air Con.
It's a Pretty good and budget place. Capsule with air con. The owner was nice to give me a spare room as my room was not available for an early check-in. It's above the flower market so you can take a walk through the market which is flowery, and the feeling is pretty good. Opposite to the hostel is river Chao Praya so you can sit in your hostel and have dinner with a river view. You might think with the market around, the place might be noisy, but it was rather very quiet, and I had a great sleep may it be a nap or a full-fledged 8-hour sleep. Breakfast includes Bread Butter Jam and Cornflakes. Make sure you include breakfast in your booking else you might need to walk some distance for good breakfast. You can walk a bit and find better food stalls on the streets over the other side of the bridge.
Ferry Near By
There will be an indication of a ferry from Yodiman Pier next to the Hostel on your Google map which isn't right. The pier is dedicated to the Cruise. The hostel is at a Walking distance from Grand Palace, Buddhist Temple, Wat Arun, Khao San Road China Town and many other tourist attractions.
Go to Wat Arun Instead of Grand Palace
Don't go to Grand Palace, it will cost you 500THB which I feel is a complete waste unless you are an architecture fanatic. You can instead go to Wat Arun that will cost you 4THB + 4THB for round Ferry from Tha Tien and 50THB for the entry. You can go to the pier either on a Grab bike or Walk. Go to Wat Pho, right opposite to the Tha Tien pier you will find the Wat Pho Temple with 46-meter gold plated reclining Budha and the birthplace of Thai Medicine. Entry is 50 baht with a free water bottle. Also, you can borrow robes to cover yourself before entering the temple.
Thai Massage
Thai Massage costs 260THB for 30 mins and 420THB for 1 hour. Foot massage costs 280THB and 420THB and Oil Massage costs 620THB. You don't have to take your clothes off for a traditional Thai massage so you should wear something loose-fitting and comfortable if you opt for the body massage. If you aren't wearing something suitable, you will normally be given Thai-style fisherman's pants to change into in privacy. The rates are pretty high at Wat Pho so you can instead go to a Tripadvisor approved massage parlor and get Oil Massage for 350, Foot Massage for 200, Thai Massage for 250. The price varies from parlor to parlor.
China Town
You can head to China town by bus or Walk from the hostel as its about 1.6 km. Chinatown has a few overpriced stalls and some cheap ones. The one I had been to, was at the starting of the street and price ranged from 40THB to 300THB. You find all kinds of seafood so basically, you can go crazy if you are seafood lover like me. There is a temple Wat Traimit at the entrance of China Town near China Gate which has world's largest massive gold seated Sukhothai Buddha measuring nearly five meters in height and weighing five and a half tons. The entry fee to this place is 40THB. It has the First floor for the sacred ceremony and fortune. 2nd floor is Chinatown Museum, 3rd Floor is the Gold Past Records Museum. 4th floor is the largest gold monk in the world.
