Over time I have realised that finding a spot in Bangalore, which is devoid of people, is an extremely rare entity. If the place is attractive, there would be people there to visit it. In this case, the place is surreal and has no tourists, just because there is a minor hike required. Maybe people arent able to find it too! But yes that's my story for today. A place that looks like the moon's surface.
So what exactly is this place?
It's a quarry on the outskirts of North Bangalore. Extensive mining for rock, has led this place to look like moon's crater.
Is it safe to go here?
It is. If you use it as a hike place, then it is. Outside of that, You need to follow certain precautions
Every quarry has a gorge, and the depth of it is not known. Better to avoid try swimming at these places
The hike has points of minor steep ascents. It would help if you have a good shoe with grip.
What should I expect at this place?
A peaceful hike
No Shops around. Carry your water
No human support incase of any mishap
How much time should I spend here?
If its an overcast day, like it usually is in Bangalore, you should plan for a 6 am-10 am hike
Which side of Bangalore is this?
This is in the Northern side of Bangalore, enroute to the airport. There is an A2B on your right. At that point, start looking left and watch out for these huge rocks. You will have to take the next road inside Betahalasuru village.
