Ever questioned why we go shopping? Aside from essentials, we go out of our way to purchase items we might not actually need. Let me give you why we enjoy shopping so much. Retail therapy really exists! It elevates our mood. Serotonin and Dopamine, also known as the "feel-good hormone," are released when we go shopping.
Bangalore, often known as the "Silicon Valley of India," is not only the nation's top IT powerhouse or party hub but also a top destination for tourists due to its fantastic shopping options. Bangalore has one of the most dynamic retail scenes in the entire nation, with the best selection of both high-street and street shopping!
Bangalore shoppers come to their vicinity market, bazaar, retail stores and malls on weekends and all through the festival season to check out the newest trends, fresh cargo and stock up on needs.
Bangalore's Top Shopping Locations Include These:
Here are a few stores, some of which I particularly enjoyed and others which I didn't like at all.
Ikea Nagasandra Bengaluru
It offers unique experiences for first-time visitors and a variety of things to consider. Several cutting-edge products. Some things are inexpensive, while others are a little pricey. Here, one may easily pass 5–6 hours. Supposedly Swedish restaurant is unhygienic. I found it annoying that customers had to serve themselves and that no one was watching the doors to the food counter while some patrons left them open. However, the food was delicious.
I had an excellent buying experience here. Almost any type of furniture and home products are available there. If you are planning to renovate your home, office, or both, you must go to this vicinity. Although the budget is higher than average, some products are only accessible here.
Lulu Mall Bengaluru
This mall is by far the best in India. For shopaholics, this mall has so much to offer. There are numerous chocolates, pickles, cakes, candies, and dry fruits available. Many different places to shop and a fantastic area for foodies. Because weekends are more crowded, it is recommended to visit during the week.
Chai Point
We visited Chai Point while in Lulu Mall. A sugary tiny adorable spot for chai lovers to unwind and enjoy flavor-infused chai.
Commercial Street
Bangalore's Commercial Street, one of the city's most well-known markets, is a haven for people who love to buy on the street. You will frequently be unsure of where to begin because there is so much to buy here. It is a one-stop shop for buying clothing, counterfeit jewelry, sporting items, and shoes. Additionally, you can browse for reasonably priced antiques and home linens
Pothys – Silk Sarees Bengaluru
One of South India's top boutiques. They feature a wide selection of gowns, lungis, and sarees. They offer a wide range of possibilities, from inexpensive to premium. Even better, if you spend more than a certain amount, you get gifts.
Zudio – Commercial Street
Zudio is the place to go if you're in Commercial Street and seeking for fairly priced, useful apparel for men, women, and kids. Prices start at a reasonable INR 149, and you can expect to spend up to INR 999 at the most. So awesome, right? The Indo-Western collection for ladies (for women), loungewear (track pants, slouchy t-shirts, jacket layers), and casual wear collection for men and women will impress you.
Phoenix Marketcity Mall
Phoenix Marketcity, considered being the city's top location for food, shopping, and entertainment, is truly a shopper's paradise. The mall offers its patrons the top worldwide brands, deals, competitions, and a complete shopping experience. I made time to visit bangalore Phoenix Marketcity because I adored the Chennai Phoenix City Mall and never felt let down. Everyone has options for medium- to high-budget needs.
Popular shopping destinations that I didn't enjoy at all:
Church Street
It's a location with a diverse crowd. It's just a lengthy road containing offices, stores, taverns, restaurants, and cafés. I quickly left this place because I felt strange staying there. Regardless of your gender, there is also a lot of ogling.
Ilahui
I visited this location after watching videos on YouTube and Instagram, and I've since learned not to believe everything you see on social media. Very poor workplace behavior. The billing counter employee lacks manners. This store is unremarkable in any way. Moreover, non-branded products are highly pricey.
Mantri Sqaure Mall
Even while Mantri Square Mall was well-known among shoppers, it is currently losing its allure. The traffic in front of this mall is appalling, the restrooms are filthy, and there are no adequately working lifts.
Mumuso
After watching several videos on YouTube, I went to this store and was let down. Neither the merchandise nor the store is appealing. This store's merchandise is all pricey and overpriced.
R & B
There are very few selections available in the store, and because there is no standardization in comparison to other manufacturers, it can be difficult to find the proper size. In terms of price, style, quality, and size, the brand falls short on all counts. Overall, shopping from here is a waste of time.
Forum Mall
Young college students and the working class use Bangalore's Forum Mall as a shopping destination. The mall is thought to be Bangalore's first complete shopping centre. You can buy clothes, books, toys, and a lot more at the mall's many retail establishments. But it seemed to me to be a typical mall. This forum mall is a good option if you like the previous Forum Mall.
Malleswaram & Jaynagar 4th Block
Malleswaram & Jayanagar shopping complex in Bengaluru are a shoppers' paradise one of Bengaluru's most well-known traditional marketplaces, one is well-known for its flower market, herbs, spices, and vegetables and second is known for its enormous shopping centre respectively. After finishing your shopping, you may refresh yourself with delicious meals thanks to a variety of dining options. To me, it just reminded me of Panjim and Mapusa marketplaces. If you haven't been to these markets in Goa, you must go to Malleswaram and Jayanagar 4th Block.
M G Road and Brigade Road
One of Bangalore's busiest commercial and shopping center is MG Road and between MG Road and Residency Road is Brigade Road. To browse branded showrooms selling clothing, electronics, footwear, and jewelry, visitors should use the pathways. It resembles Goa's 18th June Road somewhat. Even though the roads are well-kept and the area is surrounded by large, gorgeous buildings, I didn't particularly love being here. However, if someone wants to have an experience they must go.
Even though I didn't enjoy a few well-known malls or shopping centers in Bangalore, that doesn't mean you shouldn't go. Everybody has their own preferences and opinions. If you have been to or plan to visit these locations, please share your experience. It's possible that it will alter my outlook as well.
Our brains release dopamine and endorphins when we make purchases. Some people may become compulsively shop because the quick gratification and need to feel the "rush" again begins to outweigh self-control and sensible financial considerations.
Things to consider before shopping or engaging in retail therapy:
• Perhaps shopping releases the pleasant hormone serotonin, but that doesn't mean you should shop anxiously.
• place aside a set amount of money for purchases.
• Make a list of only the necessities.
• Ask a friend or partner to use their card to buy them, or ask them to approve your purchase choices in advance.
• waiting a day or two before making a purchase.
• Instead of making an actual purchase, you can window shop, browse the web, add goods to your shopping cart, and make a list of future purchase.
