Bengaluru: Shopper's Delight

Bengaluru  has  a  lot  to  do  for  a  typical  traveller.  Amongst  the  swanky  high-rise  buildings  and  the long  lanes  of  the  roads,  I  found  myself  in  the  shopper’s  paradise.  A  shopaholic  by  heart  and  a  travel  lover,  Bengaluru  offered  the  best  of  both. Appreciated  for  the  best  climate  and  the  friendly  people,  Bengaluru  was  a  delight  to  me.

It  offers  various  options  to  choose  from,  malls  as  well  as  flea  markets.  Bargaining  is  a  power  and  it  helps  if  you  have  a  knack  of  it.  For  high-end  fashion  brands  like  Burberry,  Louis  Vuitton  or  Versace,  UB  city  is  the  place  to  be.  Updated  with  the  latest  collection  of  all  luxury  brands,  you  will  never  get  tired  of  this  place. 

As  for  other  brands,  there  are  few  malls  located  at  various  parts  of  the  city.  Meenakshi  Mall  is  located  on  the  Bannerghatta  Main  Road  which  is  about  12  kms  from  the  city.  Located  on  a  highway  the  mall  offers  clothing,  shoes  and  accessory  shopping  options. 

Bangalore  Central  is  located  at  FM Cariappa Road.

Forum  Mall  located  at  Kormangala  which  is  in  the  heart  of  the  city  offers  huge  varieties  to  choose  from  and  also  provides  majority  of  the  brands.  Forum  Mall  is  the  largest  mall  in  the  city  and  usually  flanked  by  youngsters.  The  mall  also  has  a  theatre  and  food  courts.

Garuda  Mall  is  the  second  largest  shopping  mall  in  Bengaluru.  Located  in  Ashok  Nagar,  the  mall  has  six  floors  which  include  the  food  court  and  the  cinemas.  It  includes  most  of  the  popular  brands. 

For  all  those  who  love  to  bargain,  head  to  Commercial  Street.  The  one  stop  destination  for  clothing,  shoes,  accessories  as  well  as  home  décor.  The  street  has  small  shops  lined  up  as  long  as  your  eyes  can  see.  You  can  find  Western  Wear,  Ethnic  Wear  and  Formal  Wear.  Traditional  bangles  and  earrings  are  beautiful  in  the  tiny  roadside  shops  here.  Handbags  and  shoes  dominate  a  few  streets  but  you  need  to  find  the  right  shop  before  you  pick  your  stuff.  Check  out  a  few  shops  first  and  then  come  back  to  the  one  where  you  liked  stuff  the  most.  The  best  thing  about  shopping  from  Commercial  Street  is  the  garments  can  be  altered  there  and  then.  Within  five  minutes  the  garments  can  be  altered  and  made  to  be  your  size.  If  you  are  visiting  Commercial  Street  for  the  first  time,  you  might  not  remember  the  lanes  you  walked  past,  hence  keep  a  landmark  in  mind  so  as  to  make  your  shopping  and  (bargaining)  experience  easier.
