I had planned one day Nusa Penida tour with both West and east sides of Penida Island. The itinerary is bit difficult to execute due to logistic issues on the island. Almost no travel agents agree to it in the first go but it is not impossible!!!
So give it shot !!!
You won't regret it!!!

Moving ahead...
ITINERARY:
I started off my journey to Nusa Penida from Sanur port in Bali, catching the first ferry leaving early morning around 7:00 A.M.
Bear in mind, its always a rush hour at Sanur port so try to reach an hour early for the tickets or get it arranged by your travel agents. Luggages, if any, will be loaded in the ferry beforehand by the respective employees of the ferry.
One of the most important thing to be kept in mind that these ferries are docked bit far away from the shore so you have to wade into knee deep waters before you could board the ferry. Hence dress accordingly. The ferry takes about 45 mins to reach Nusa Penida. On reaching the Penida island I was received by my travel guide/driver.
I started off from WEST Nusa penida:
This is far from the port and has quite some offbeat spots. So definitely less crowded but as the time goes on, these places, also start to get flooded, hence more the reason to catch the first ferry!!!
1. Diamond beach:
This was first on my list and one of the most awaited beaches that I wanted to go. Diamind cliff is amazing.
Around 200-300 steps to climb down and some areas, its quite risky as there are less to no space to walk. Infact, you have to hold on to ropes to climb down. Remember, you have to climb up the same way.
Please note if you are attempting 1 day itinerary, you can only climb down only one beach as these are quite time consuming tuff trails...more like trekking and ofcourse you are bounded by ferry timings.
2. Swing:
On your way to diamond beach, you can also enjoy the swing over the cliffs. These have wonderful feel to them, given the beautiful view around you.
3. Atuh Cliff:
It’s a walking distance from diamond cliff point. Another beautiful viewpoint.
4.Tree house:
Again lot of stair climbing, you reach the spot and take your number and wait for your turn. Waiting time is around 30-50 mins. You will get 10 min maximum to click your picture. It has nothing much else to offer but the picturesque backdrop is mindblowing
Then I went for EAST penida:
These points are closer to the port and hence are more pushed by travel agents. These portions of island are quite crowded. The interesting thing about east penida is, if you get down at one of the points, you can cover remaining all the spots by walking, that’s how close they all are.
1. Klingking beach:
It’s the iconic point of Nusa penida, so definitely didn’t want to miss it. It is the longest trek route to the beach in Nusa Penida.
2. Broken beach:
Beautiful structure of rocks connecting two beaches. There are also some routes to explore the nearby areas and get few unique pictures.
3.Angel’s billabong: Nature’s infinity pool. You can actually down into the water and swim.
FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
1. Take extra pair of clothes and sunglasses
2. Stay hydrated
3. It is going to be hot so be prepared
4. Getting pictures at every view point will take it's time, specially the tree house so better to reach early and maintain a fast pace.
5. Have proper shoes, if you are going to trek
6. Bargain with travel agents to customize your itineraries
7. There is no water sport at any of the beaches
8. There are trail for reaching down to all the beaches except BROKEN beach.
BONUS TIP:
1.If you have time, you can stay at Nusa penida. Pros:
That way mornings will be completely empty at all the beaches till the ferries start to arrive and hence you can have the beaches to yourself.
Cons:
-Hotels are expensive
-You need to have a transport to move around
-Grocery or other food options will not be easily available
2. There is a beach called crystal Bay, it is the party hub of Nusa Penida. It has pubs and cafes and usually overly crowded.
