Tips to Travel

1) Plan at least 8-10 days for the trip, since there are no direct flights to Bali and stopovers can eat into a lot of your time. Also, there's so much to see and do in just one city itself.

3) Best time to visit is between August- November. Carry easy peasy cotton clothing as the weather is humid throughout with periodic rains.

4) Explore the Balinese cuisine with Miso laden gravies, Nasi goreng, Mie Goreng and banana based desserts. Do not miss the strong headed kapi, its the tastiest coffee, with or without milk

5) Adventure sports are great around private beaches such as Nusa Dua (we stayed there at the mesmerizing Mercure Hotel) and can be indulged in around less rains.

6) Do remember to book the tours and packages in advance to save on cost and time, a lot of online tour booking sites for Bali offer instant booking and allow you to save a good deal of moolah

7) Carry Indonesian currency only to a certain extent as most places accept cards there, a Forex card or a credit is a great way to be safe. Also money exchange centers are located around every corner for quick exchange for dollars and euros( preferred currencies)

8) Go light with luggage as there's a lot of shopping awaiting. Artifacts, sculptures, junk jewelry, wall hangings, paintings, coffee, candles, massage oils are some great picks at thrifty bargains

9) Pick pocketing and robbery are a common thing around the heavily populated Kuta area so carry minimal cash and do not get over friendly with strangers who promise great deals and offers

10) Lastly do not forget to loosen up with a massage or two. The authentic Balinese massages are a stairway to heaven and promise to leave you rejuvenated.
