Bali : Hike to the Active Volcano , Mt. Batur

It's Pitch Black . It's Cold . It's Marvellous

Climbing up an active volcano is something unique to Bali. Idea is to chase the Sun and meet it rising at the top. You begin with the hike somewhere at 1:30 am and it's going to be a battle of "Mind over Matter". 1 hour into the hike, the rocks turn into sand and it gets steeper to the top.

Smile. As the Locals would make it easier for you, we got some help from a sweet school kid who climbs up every single day to sell those 4-5 drinks he's carrying.(Got me thinking about my privileged trip to Bali.)

Keep going , every step up will reward you with a beautiful deep orange dawn and the shimmering lake.
