This is the place where one can enjoy the beauty of both mountains and gorging down river Teesta underneath. If you want to be amazed by its serenity and heavenly view, then this spot should definitely be added into your bucket list. It is near Latpanchar in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. You can witness the beauty of snowy Kanchenjunga @ 360 degrees. One side Kanchenjunga and another side river Teesta - this unique combination of scenic beauty is no less than a heavenly feeling. It is like a paradise.

We have visited this spot on our trip to Sittong. Amidst cinchona plantations, the view point was amazing. There were some cottages for staying. Tourists can book these cottages for staying as well as enjoying the panaromic view. It's totally a virgin tourist spot somewhat off beat but ideal for picnic and bon firing. Packages are also available for doing these activities. If you want to escape from the crowded, claustrophobic ambience of Darjeeling then this is a right choice to go for it.

About this view point, my mom is the sole suggestor who by the way became familiar with this name by reading travelogues and travel posts from social media.

Now the most important question - "How is to go there"?

The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri and airport is Bagdogra. But we have gone there via Sittong. We have first stayed at Darjeeling for 3 days and then took a cab to Sittong. In Sittong, we have also spent 3 days and among those 3 days, we went to this picnic spot for sightseeing.

When is the ideal time for going??

Best time to visit this place is from October to April and we have gone there during our Christmas holidays. Also at this time, tourists enjoy beautiful clear sight.

Best Season to Visit Ahaldara/ Latpanchar:

Latpanchar can be visited throughout the year, except monsoon. Although best time is October to May, in winter also can be visited but carry enough woollen clothes.
