Day 1

Cradled in the Nar-Narayan mountain ranges with the grand Neelkanth peak forming an enchanting backdrop, Badrinath is one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimages. It is located on the left bank of river Alaknanda in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. According to legends, the Badrinath temple dates back to the Vedic age. However, the present temple is believed to have been established by saint-philosopher Adi Shankaracharya.
This is one of the four holy dham of hindus. Also source of one of the major stream of ganges, the alaknanda river.
Since it is a pilgrimage site, restaurants here serve only vegetarian food. No permit to serve non-vegetarian food in this region. Also forget alcohol in this region.
It is recomended to plan a full day to this place. This holy shrine is itself a wonder, its view will touch your heart and will give you peace which everyone search in life. Visit the temple at night also.
