This mini-Assam glides on Brahmaputra every night

Alfresco grand is a cruising company which runs a number of cruises on Brahmaputra river in the city of Guwahati. They offer sunset cruises, dinner cruises, overnight cruises and even day-long picnic cruises.

My pretty evening on the cruise consisted of some spectacular performances of  Bihu dance (Assamese folk dance), musical played with some of the states local instruments, an electrifying performance of maintream bollywood songs by a local band and followed by a sumptuous buffet dinner at the lower deck of the cruise (where you literally dine below the water level!) 😄

Ticket prices for a cultural evening with dinner (which I went for) starts from Rs. 800/- only. The tour lasts for about 2.5 hours amd consists of a welcome drink, starters, live performance s followed by buffet dinner (vegetarian as well as non- vegetarian).

Psst:- There is complete Bar available on the deck, though charges for any alcoholic drinks is not included in the tickets.
