From Jorhat town, Assam, it is approx. 15 km to Ferry Ghat, Nimati towards north. Shared cars are available. But hired vehicles will be comfortable.
Ferry will take 1.5 hours to reach other side of the river Brahmaputra, i.e. Majuli Island. Ferry charges are Rs 100.00 per head. One can book a whole ferry at a cost of Rs.3500.
From other side river bank it will take 15 minutes to cross 02 kilometer of sand shore and then one will reach the most popular tourist place Majuli town.
An individual can stay there peacefully as homestay. Resorts, Cottages are there and it costs Rs.800.00. Assam tourism provided comfortable Prashanti also available. One can accomodate in Ashram/ Satra too freely.
