Shri Durgiana Mandir, deriving it's name from Goddess Durga is a Hindu temple situated in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. At first look, it looks similar to the famous Golden Temple of Amritsar as it has also been built in a sacred pool of water. As you take a round of temple across its periphery, you will see idols of various Gods and Goddess in their divine Avatars showcasing the moments from their stories.
The Sri Durgiana temple is a very important temple for Hindus as it is believed that there is a tree inside complex where Lava and Kusha bound Hanuman after the captured challenge horse of the Ashvamedha yagya .
The temple's dome and canopies are similar to that of the Golden temple. A bridge provides the approach to the temple. The dome of the temple is gilded. Marble is used extensively in the temple's features. The dome is illuminated with colourful lights. The temple is sometimes called Silver temple because of its large exquisitely designed silver doors.
