Can a common man's daughter have an extraordinary dream ?
Jaahnavi is a 14 year old girl who is on a mission to climb all the 7 highest peaks of the world #Mission7Summit and create a unique record for India. She has completed three summits: Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest peak), Mount Eluburs (Europe’s highest peak) and Mount Kosciusko (highest peak of Australia). She started her career at the age of ten months when her father took her and her backpacking in a specially designed bag. Apart from being a mountaineer she is a rock climber and has actively taken part in and learned other adventure sports such as parasailing, rafting and a number of other adventure sports. But climbing and mountaineering is not all that is there to this brilliant 14 year old. She stands for a cause greater than her, that of the empowerment of young girls and women, the voice of the girl child and spreading cancer awareness across borders. Any surplus fund that is not invested into accomplishing her mission is employed in facilitating the education of young girls. She strives to prove that Indian girls are NOT weaklings. The core message she wants convey through her mission to conquer the seven peaks of the world is that girls are not just pretty, they have their own dreams and are tough enough to achieve them.
"People should invest in my mission because I have dared to embark on achieving something that most people hardly ever think about. This is how I intend to do my part in bringing about a change in the society. I believe in girls and women and in their ability to achieve their dreams. There is no compulsion when it comes to making investments or contributions, but I feel like I should get some help in accomplishing what I want to because there are people who want to and can do great things but cannot because they do not get the means or opportunity. They simply don’t have anyone who supports them. I, on the other hand, am fortunate enough to have that support. I know what I am doing so I can tell you that however much is invested, will not be waste. It would be a good way to give back to the society. This isn’t just about me. The help I receive will not benefit me only, it will also mutually benefit the person who steps forward and contributes. The recognition and the accolades I earn through achieving this will be shared with the ones who helped me to reach my goals. I am doing this for a cause greater than me. I feel like girls and women in the society at present are not seen as who they really are and what they are capable of. Women used to be in power in the times of kings and queens and that is what I want to bring back."
