Planning for an exotic International Winter Vacation? May not be possible in 2020.

After an almost forgettable 2020, if you were planning to ring in 2021 at some exotic international destination, you’ll have to let that plan pass. Barring a few countries with which India has an Air Bubble arrangement, commercial flights to International destinations will remain banned till December 31, 2020.

As announced by The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today and reported by news portals, all International commercial flights other than all-cargo operations, repatriation flights, charter flights, flights under Vande Bharat Mission and air bubble agreements will continue to be banned.

Several European countries are implementing new travel restrictions and/or lockdowns. Though the full lockdown in England ends on 2nd December, however post that there will be several restrictions on travel. Many Europeans countries also are not allowing foreigners from certain countries to travel without a negative COVID test (especially the PCR test)

Aimed at restarting commercial flight operations, Air Transport Bubbles are temporary arrangements between two countries, that are reciprocal in nature. Airlines from both countries will enjoy similar benefits on such routes. As of now, India has Air Bubble arrangements with about 24 countries including the USA, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, UAE, Maldives among others. For details on the same, click here.
