Singapore is known for its vibrant city life and many popular tourist spots which attracts thousands of tourist throughout the year from all corners of the world. But I decided to explore some offbeat, non touristy places during my recent trip to Singapore. And I wasn't disappointed, Singapore truly has much to offer beyond it's popular tourist attractions.

Here are top 3 such offbeat destinations you can plan to visit next time, if you are travelling to Singapore.

1- Rustic Coney Island : Coney Island at Punggol, is an offbeat spot you can plan to visit, if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful time for yourself during your trip to Singapore. It's a beach forest island wherein you can enjoy an evening walk or a bicycle ride in the forest trail of the island park. An ideal place to spend a calm and relaxing time soaked in nature. There's a bike point where you can rent your bike @Punggol Jetty Bike Point. Download Anywheel app and self rent your bike. Enjoy your walk or bike ride in the nature trails of the Coney island. Here's a visual tour of the Coney Island.

2- Haw Par Villa: This one is a must visit and must be in your bucket list if you are in Singapore. Located in Pasir Panjang Road, Haw Par Villa is a theme park depicting legends and history pertaining to Chinese mythology. The most interesting thing to do here is to pay a visit to the "Museum of Hell". The museum has a guided tour explaining how the concept of death and afterlife is viewed by various religions across the planet. So, do purchase the tickets to hell :)

3- St Johns and Lazarus Island - Known as the southern islands, St Johns and Lazarus island are the best kept secrets of Singapore. The islands can be reached by ferry from Marina South Pier. There are two ferry companies that operates regular ferries to these islands. The nearest MRT is Marina South Pier.

The islands have pristine sandy beaches and dedicated spots for fishing, swimming and surfing. You can plan a small picnic on these islands as well. The place is scenic and picturesque and quiet. The vibe here is offbeat and tranquil.

Both the islands are at one location. You can reach St Johns island by ferry and then cross the ridgeway to reach Lazarus island. This is a highly recommended spot for a day out or a weekend gateway. There are no facilities for food here, no cafes or restaurants and so you need to carry your food and water before the trip.

These are my top 3 recommendations if you are one who seeks to explore offbeat destinations and quiet places or if you are solo traveller who enjoys less crowded places and spots. I enjoyed my offbeat trip in Singapore and wish to come back again to these amazing places. @offbeatvoyages.
