Macao is a beautiful place with well-preserved colonial architecture, glamorous nightlife, traditional Chinese temples and ultra-modern skyscrapers, divine Macanese flavours along with few of the world’s best to-dos which I think should be on every adrenaline junkie bucket list. Having said that, below are the 20 things that I absolutely love about Macao and looking forward to check that off my list soon.
1. Macao Tower - The world's highest Commercial Bungee Jump 233m! Bungy experience in Macau has to be mind-blowing due to its specially designed Bungee cord, guide cables, and recovery system allowing ultimate ground rush. Around 4 million people from all corners of the planet have safely Bungee jumped so far. I would definitely love to do this, and hey would you dare to?
2. Macao Tower Mast Climb - Stand at the very top of the iconic Macao Tower by climbing 100 meters up the vertical ladders.
3. Macao Tower Skywalk : Walk on the outer rim of the Macao Tower which is 1.2m wide, 732 feet above the ground with no handrail.
4. SkyJump Macao Tower which is exciting yet less challenging than Bungy Jumping at Macao.
5. The House of Dancing Water - World's largest water extravaganza. The pool is larger than 5 Olympic swimming pools combined with stunning display of theatre and special effects.
6. Macao is connected to Hong Kong and Mainland China by the world’s longest sea bridge stretching from more than 55km (Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge). The structure has a lifespan of 120 years and built to withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake and super typhoons.
7. Macao has the Asia’s highest Ferris wheel and it’s also world’s first figure-8 Ferris wheel (Studio City’s Golden Reel).
8. Macao Giant Panda Pavilion houses adorable giant pandas with the exciting sights of this playful animal.
9. Skycap Cable Car runs a little circuit around the Wynn Palace and the beautiful fountain which is a great way to take in the views of the place.
10. Gondola Ride at Venetian Maca0.
11. Macanese food adventure at Taipa Village.
12. The Macao International Fireworks Display, Macao International Dragon Boat Race, Parade Through Macao, Macao Grand Prix.
13. Canoeing at Hac Sa Beach, the largest natural beach in Macao. This is a black sand beach offers immense natural beauty.
14. The Historic Centre of Macao is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
15. Morpheus, City of dreams is the world’s first free-form exoskeleton-bound skyscraper. 50 percent of Macao's revenue comes from casinos and 20 percent of its population are employed by the casinos.
16. Nam Van Lake is the stunning man-made lake in Macao. Evenings are spellbinding here with an interesting laser show.
17. A-Ma Temple which is the oldest temple of Macao and is a representation of the true diversity of Chinese culture, inspired by Taoism, Buddhism and multiple folk beliefs.
18. Pink Dolphin Watching. These pink coloured iconic creatures live in the Pearl River Delta between Hong Kong and Macao.
19. Macao is the only place in China where casinos are legal, and it has around 40 casinos. It also hosts few of the world’s largest casino. It rakes in 3 to 4 times more than Las Vegas in annual casino profits.
20. Seac Pai Van Park is the largest natural green area in Macao which houses those cuddly pandas and plays an important part in educating visitors about nature conservation.
