Day 1 : Cochin to Kuala Lumpur
After my marriage was fixed, we all decided to go for an International trip...My father has done a little bit of research and he came up with the idea of Trip to Malaysia. It was December 2016 and the perfect time to visit Genting. As the Wedding preparations were going on in full swing, we really wanted a break from the hectic plans and thought this would be a perfect place to relax and enjoy Family time and enjoy the last few days of my Bachler life. We then took one package from 'Galaxy Travel Holidays'. Their package was good and inclusive of the main attractions in Malaysia. Package includes Flight Tickets as well as the Hotels. Our Flight was from Cochin International Airport.
I was working as Systems Engineer in Infopark(Cochin) and was leading my best days with my lovely friends. Since I have resigned from my job in order to to join my husband in Dubai, I was slowly vacating my apartment during the last few days in Cochin. There were some more stuffs that has to be packed and there were 3 luggage's pending to be taken back home. So I went back to my apartment in Cochin before this Trip and thought I will stay with friends for 2 days and during that time, I can finish my packing and parents can pick me from my apartment in Cochin. I have enjoyed those last few days with my friends and my parents came and picked me on the way to the Airport. when my We reached Cochin
We reached the Cochin Airport, we parked our Car inside the airport and took ticket for 4 days. We were travelling in AK38 Air Asia flight to Kuala Lumpur and the flight departed from Cochin at the right time 23:30hrs
Day 2 : Kuala Lumpur - Batu Caves, Cable car, Genting
We reached Kuala Lumpur airport as around 06:20Hrs. Upon arrival at the Kuala Lumpur Airport and after completing the formalities, we exchanged Rupees to Ringgits. then we went outside and be met our tour representative from the travel agency.
We then proceed to Genting Highlands.
On the way, we had breakfast from Saravana Bhavan and visited Batu Caves. It was such an amazing experience to see the huge statue of Lord Murugan. Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Malay word 'batu', meaning 'rock'. The town nearby is named after the Batu Caves limestone formation. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. Rising almost 100 m above the ground, the Batu Caves temple complex consists of three main caves and a few smaller ones. The biggest, referred to as Cathedral Cave or Temple Cave, has a very high ceiling and features ornate Hindu shrines. To reach it, visitors must climb a steep flight of 272 steps. At the base of the hill are two more cave temples, Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave, both of which are full of Hindu statues and paintings. The Ramayana Cave is situated to the extreme left as one faces the sheer wall of the hill. On the way to the Ramayana Cave, there is a 15 m tall statue of Hanuman and a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, devotee and aide of Lord Rama. A 42.7-metre high statue of Lord Murugan was unveiled in January 2006, having taken 3 years to construct. It is the tallest Lord Murugan statue in the world. We climbed all the Steps and visited the Caves. It felt soo blissful and felt very positive after visiting the cave. We went down and saw people giving food to many pigeons. We also tried to give food to the pigeons and clicked a few pictures and continued our journey to Genting.
Mountain Resort of Genting Highlands is developed by Genting Malaysia Berhad Group. The hill resort is at an average elevation of 1,740 meters within the Titiwangsa Mountains on the border between the states of Pahang and Selangor of Malaysia. i was soo amazed to see the greenery outside and since its December, it was really cold and the best climate. While approaching Genting, the road was foggy and it the road trip was really fun. On the way, we tried to click a few pictures and videos to recapture the memories. We then reached the cable car Point in Genting. Our stay has been booked in 'First World Hotel' in Genting. We can go to the hotel by riding this Cable car. This is the Asia's longest and fastest Cable car to Genting Highlands. While we are inside the cable car, we can enjoy a stunning view of succulent green hills unparalleled beauty of landscapes and hillocks. Since it was foggy, the view from the Cable car was amazing. We could see many cable cars going up and down the mountain and was really impressed. We then arrived in Genting Highlands and checked into hotel. The room was amazing and was having the best view of the foggy mountains. We kept our luggage's inside the room Later and went for a tour outside. Guide has given us the tickets for 'Snow World' and we thought we will first visit the 'Snow World' and will the explore further. We found the 'Snow World' entrance and gave our tickets. They gave us boots, gloves and jackets and we went inside. It was the best artificial snow experience which I had. We clicked so many pictures and spend around 1 hour inside until our nose was turning pink. Maybe because of the Cold or Snow, we felt soo hungy and visited one of the buffet restaurants there. Since Im an eggetarian, there were not much options available, but I took plin white rice, salad, soup and fried potatoes. Genting was such a happening and lively place. its basically a party place and we will feel soo lively and will be in a party Mode for the whole day. I bought one maroon shawl as a memory of Genting. After having our dinner, we went back to the room.
Day 3: Kuala Lumpur
It was such a pleasant foggy morning in Genting. The best part of staying in the hotels is their Buffet Breakfast. I'm a big fan of Buffet breakfast. We had our complimentary buffet breakfast at hotel and proceed to Check out. This was the first best International hotel which I have stayed in my entire life. I would like to really appreciate the Christmas decorations, light decors, ambience, light music, the fragrance etc. It still fresh in my eyes. Our guide came and we started our journey back to Kuala Lumpur. We went and checked in to 'Arenaa Star Luxury Hotel'. After resting for a while, we went outside. There are free shuttle buses in Kuala Lumpur and I could see that most of the people use public travel for commute. We took a bus to and took a round in order to get the feel of the place. We then came back and walked alot. It was my first international trip and I felt really good. We the nwent to one Indian restaurant and had our dinner and came back to our room.
Day 4: Kuala Lumpur - City Tour
Today is the Final Day in Kuala Lumpur. We had our amazing complimentary breakfast at hotel. There will be guided city Tour today as detailed by our guide. We have visited Commercial Centre, the King’s Palace, The National Mosque, Lake Gardens, National Monument and the superb buildings at the Independence Square. We clicked soo many pictures and went for lunch. After lunch, we went to visit KL Telecommunication Tower in Kuala Lumpur. KL Tower is the 7th Tallest Telecommunication Tower in the world with a height of 421 m. Its observation desk is at 276m, being situated on the lowest of the six levels in the head of the Tower, but as the tower stands on top of a small hill, it still gives excellent views of Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding regions. After the guided tour in Kl tower, I wanted to buy something for my husband as a gift and I bought one show case item- it was an orchid inside a glass and was soo cute and beautiful. In the evening, we went to the main attraction of Kuala Lumpur which is the Petronas Tower. The PETRONAS Twin Towers are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We didn't went to the top of the Tower as we might have to purchase tickets extra, this might be similar experience to that of KL Tower, so instead we went inside the Tower and it felt like a mall. We all were so hungry and somehow I managed to get some French fries with salad similar to that of NYF. After having lunch, we went outside and clicked many pictures in front of Petronas Tower. We waited for the Sunset and the View of Petronas tower and Kl Tower during the night was also soo beautiful. After spending some time there, we walked back to our hotel. We did a little bit of Shopping on the way back. We had dinner from another Indian restaurant and went back to our Room.
Day 5: Back to Cochin
After having our breakfast, we checked out from the hotel . Our guide took us to the 'China Town' where we can buy souvenirs or gifts. We bought some gifts and went back to the Airport. our AK39 Air Asia fight was at the right time 21:10 and we reached Cochin at 22:50. After completing the procedures, we drove back to our home and back to the hectic marriage arrangements. Hardly 1.5 months to go for the wedding. I felt Happy and Sad- happy that we made good memories during this Trip and Sad that I didn't know when I can go for a trip again with my family. My marriage was in Feb 2017 and I went to Dubai to join my husband. And my next trip with my family was in 2019 March to Gangtok.
