About 40 odd kms from Tawang, this Lake will make you skip a heartbeat

In about 2-3 hours from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, you will find yourself in a place which is filled with natural beauty. Sangestar Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake after gaining popularity when Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit was here for a shoot of a song in a movie called Koyla.

It is said that an earthquake led to the formation of this lake in 1971, which was then a grassland.

How to reach: Sangestar is at a distance of about 42 kms from Tawang and in order to reach here, one can avail a cab.

What to expect at the Lakeside?

There's an army camp near the lake where tourists can get gloves, jackets, shoes, etc at a very reasonable price. There is a refreshment stall maintained and run by Indian Army that serves hot tea/coffee, maggi and other snacks to tourists at a reasonable price.
