Your travel diary is incomplete if you don't have things to tell about new people that you met on the journey. Around 20 days before the trip, I decided to take my sister out on a vacation to pamper her. So, we pinned Goa as our destination. And I made it a rule that this 'sister's trip' would be just about us. Having said that, I was not bothered about what kind of people I was going to meet.
When I was researching to make the itinerary and to fix the accommodation, I came across a picture of a lush green verandah which had a nice swing chair. It took my heart at first sight. I immediately checked the reviews and without thinking twice I booked the room. Finally, everything was done and fixed. We were so ready to go.
The Craft is nestled in the Anjuna flea market and is about 2 minutes walk from Anjuna beach. The moment I understood the location, I was proud of myself. The day we entered the house, we were awestruck by the beauty of its pretty corners. You look at any corner of the house, you'll get a sense of living area everywhere. The bright colors just cleansed our aura and we hardly felt tired then. Another thing I noticed while we were checking in was that there were souvenirs, like so many of them. I could visualize the stories associated with them. This house is 120 years old. It took them around 6 to 7 months to restore the property. And the after picture is amazing. I was so relieved that this beautiful place is going to be my home for a couple of days. I said "home" because, the protocol of the house was 'No VIP culture', so at night, after dinner, everybody is doing their dishes. And of course, how can I not mention Divya and Sandeep, the wonderful hosts at the Craft hostels. They were so helpful and so involved with what we were planning for the day. Their affection towards me and my little sister just added more to our experience.
My purpose in traveling with my sister was very much served. I bet that your stay in a hostel will give you much more than you planned for your self. It is the best-unparalleled opportunity to experience the incredible diversity.
