Hyderabad, the city of pearls is a city rich in culture, from monuments to upcoming buildings. The city boasts of some of the best tourist attractions such as Charminar, Golconda Fort and Hussain Sagar Lake. Falaknuma Palace is now run by Taj Hotels and is a must visit if you intend to indulge in luxury. Some of the places to eat include Ohri's, Coco's, Heart Cup cafe. AB's - Absolute Barbecues and of course Paradise Biryani and Karachi Bakery.
Ramoji Film City is another attraction which could not be covered due to time shortage, but would love to do so during my next visit. Weekend Getaways from Hyderabad are Warangal, Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar Dam.
Hyderabad is associated by Charminar, a famous landmark but now the structure is dirty, stinky and poorly maintained. It's better to just pass by the congested area of this place and give it a miss from inside.
This place needs no introduction, just eat eat and eat Biryani :D
The beautiful and tall Buddha Statue is situated in the middle of this lake and can be reached in 10 minutes by a streamer. A couple of benches, vendors selling food items and people clicking pictures is what you'll find there. The view in the evening is mesmerizing.
Golconda Fort, situated on the outskirts of Hyderabad is in ruins that definitely needs government attention for restoration and maintenance. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs (Wear Shoes) to have a mesmerising view of the city from the top. There also lies a temple at the highest tip of the fort. The light and sound show in the evening is a must watch. The sound of Amitabh Bachan along with the gazals of Jagjit Singh is a combination to enjoy.
A white marble, clean and peaceful Temple, perched on a hill top, overlooking the Hussain Sagar Lake is a must visit. Mobile phones/cameras are not allowed inside.
A must visit place for the history lovers, the museum has a collections from around the globe. The major attraction is the mechanical clock where the bell strikes for every half an hour. The museum is huge to cover, its spread across 3 buildings of 2 floors each.
The grand life of Nizams can be felt by visiting this place. The architecture, Durbar Hall, Vintage car collection and sprawling gardens are the main attractions.
NTR Garden is situated next to Hussain Sagar Lake, is a spacious and well maintained family park that has various amusement rides for kids to enjoy.
The trip to Hyderabad is incomplete without a visit to Karachi bakery and Paradise Biryani. Be prepared to pack all the cookies, breads, pastries and cakes for your way back home.
Cream Srone is the best ice cream parlour of Hyderabad, my personal favourites being Death by Chocolate and Willy Wonka.
The Bazaar, situated near Charminar is the place to buy your bangles and pearls. However, I am not sure about the prices and the difference between real and fake ones available here!
The posh area of Hyderabad has numerous restaurants and malls to visit and enjoy.
Another neglected monument near Golconda Fort, The 7 Tombs belong to the Rulers of the Qutb Shah Dynasty.
