On some days it is very difficult to believe in 'hope'. In today's world that feels even more relevant. Life always gets disappointing, but I like to believe. And that is why I like finding monasteries , temples or cathedrals whenever I visit a new place, not because I am religious, but because I feel that the 'spirit' in the place gives me hope.
Last year, I had written a long blog post on my lil travel blog and though it was meant to be a travel post, it went on to something much more (read here The Hope Element) . Not sure, how many people read it, but I found myself expressing in a very different way. Today, while thinking of a topic to write on Tripoto, I felt like sharing something along those very lines.

The Harminder Sahib was on my travel bucket list for a long time. It's one of those iconic places every Indian or traveler would want to experience at least once in a lifetime.
So my friend and I spent a few hours in Amritsar just to soak in some of the spirituality at the most famous Gurudwara in the world. This was in 2018. Feels like a lifetime ago, but I am sure, that even at this very moment that place is sending some positive vibes towards us.
I remember that day very clearly. I wasn't in the best mood but once inside, there was a certain calmness in the atmosphere. One that is difficult to find in places crowded as it was. It was unique. In that very minute I felt that I was absorbing positive energy. Maybe that is what the ‘Hope’ element within me is.
I saw children, women, men, around me, with a similar expression on their face. I am sure what I felt wasn't unique to me. Anyone who has been here can understand what I am trying to say. If a place is full of prayers by thousands and thousands, and people collectively believing that someone is listening to them that itself is a strong emotion to experience.
I hope that I can keep that within me even in the moments where I imagine it fading. Without that ‘Hope’ there won’t be anything to believe in, without which there won’t be any faith, without which there won’t be any dreams… and no daydreams either.
