Allepey : Venice of India

Allepey is a beautiful city in Kerala,Southern state of India. It is famous for the houseboat cruises in backwater,Canals,beaches,choir making activities.

We had reached by train in the morning and  to the hotel. We were so excited to go for the Houseboat. So,we immediately started searching for a good houseboat for a shikara ride. We looked for few boats and finalized a 1 bhk houseboat which was a perfect house with all the facilities like cozy sofa,dinning table,DVDs, bedroom. It was covered with glass window from sides which gives you an amazing view while in boat.
The boat had started by 11 am. As it started moving,we could notice the mesmerizing views on both the sides,the lovely canals,tall coconut tree,green paddy fields. We also get to see the village people and their culture. They use the boats for their daily work. There were hotels,restaurants, Schools on the side. Boat also stops at a village where one can enjoy the coconut water and fresh fish.

At around 1 pm,they serve the food which was extremely tasty. They stop the boat near the shore  to have lunch and enjoy the near by views. One can also get down from boat to click pictures. The entire journey is so beautiful that one cannot stop taking pictures.

Boat started towards vembanad lake after the lunch, It is deep and serene backwater. You have only clear blue and white sky,serene backwater and a calm feeling. Just loved the place.Boat will return back to the same place by 5 pm evening.

Another amazing place is the  Marari and Alappuzha beach which is not far and can be reached in 30 minutes.You can happily spend the evening relaxing at these beaches with a beautiful sunset view.

Allepey is a must visit place,it was a long pending trip in my list,but would love to go back😍
