Jaipur - The pink city of peacocks, Havelis, palaces and beautiful heritage. In mid-April, I had the opportunity to explore tla land of heritage, Jaipur again. Nestled in Kukas, we decided to stay at Rajasthali Resort and Spa, a mesmerizing property situated around 30 mins away from main Jaipur city. The beauty of living in Kukas is finding a perfect balance of the city and outskirts of Jaipur with camels and elephants around the rustic beauty of the city.
Rajasthali Resort and Spa
It is situated around 30-45 mins away from Jaipur airport. The road trip to the property is a beautiful segway into the sneaky life of Jaipur. The rustic small homes with blue doors that come on the way, camels and elephants on the streets, Patrika gate, city palace and other popular Jaipur destinations. Rajasthali Resort and Spa stands tall amidst Kukas, and the beautiful entrance welcomes guests galore to enter the mystical gates like Aladdin's Khul Ja Sim Sim. One really does wonder what lies in the wait inside while receiving a sneak peak into the wonderful Rajasthani hospitality that lies in the wait outside. A palatial feeling in the middle of Jaipur, Rajasthali Resort and Spa is committed to providing the best of everything - a relaxing staycation.
The tented room at Rajasthali Resort and Spa
Tents, a lot like traditional Marwari times for the best romantic relationships and even to fuel the perfect sentiments of family, the royal destination makes for a perfect staycation. Grand mirrors, chandeliers and majestic king beds donne the room, teleporting guests to Rajasthani royalty. From the balcony and outdoor seating, one can directly view the Aravallis and hear peacocks calling out to their mates from unknown regions in the mountains. The entire atmosphere makes for a beautiful getaway, serene, away from the stress and shortcomings of city life. It is easier to escape and forget city life from the beautiful tented rooms.
The restaurant at Rajasthali Resort and Spa - Jharoka
Little does one imagine to find the most exotic dishes in the most exotic seating areas of the restaurant at Rajasthali Resort and Spa - Jharoka (literally meaning a stone window projecting from the wall face of a building, in an upper story, overlooking a street, market, court or any other open space). These are prominent figures in Rajasthan often found in Nahargarh fort or City Palace. One has to have a certain curiosity while exploring the property to connect with Rajasthani heritage. With cuisines from across the globe, specifically Rajasthani cuisine, one can really feel like they are Rajasthani Royalty themselves. Almost everything at the property, specifically the food - Dal Batti, Lachcha Paratha, the best Paneer Masala, Aglio-olio pasta, dumplings, kali daal, roomali roti, gulab jamun, jalebi rabri and the best desserts. Coming from real Rajasthani roots and being Marwari, I craved Rajasthani food like the one my grandmother cooks. Rajasthali Resort and Spa took care of my needs in the best possible way. Executive Chef Raj Singh left no stone unturned to make the place feel like home and cook the best authentic delicacies from across the globe. It was really something. Take me back there already.
