The Adalaj Stepwell is a well-known structure in the city of Ahmedabad in India. It is situated on the western side of the Adalaj Hill and is a popular tourist destination. The well was built in the 12th century and is said to have been constructed by the Seljuq ruler, Alp Arslan. The well is a series of carefully arranged terraces that descend into the depths of the hill. It is considered a tribute to Alp Arslan's victory over an invading force from the east.
