Sri Lanka-God's own country

I got a chance to visit this lovely, culturally rich country just for 5 days. No doubt days were too less to embrace all the goodness of this place and their friendly people. Wish I could at least spend a month there. Anyways there is always next time. But let me tell you all about it in short.

• Mythology, Folk music, dance, stories are the essence.

• Very Beautiful beaches on west-southern Sri Lanka like Bentota, Galle, Unawatuna. There are few not to be missed beaches on the East coast also.

• Even big cities like Colombo, Kandy, Galle are very calm, peaceful & neat.

• Being an Architect by profession, i visited many places designed by renowned Architect Geoffrey Bawa which include Lunuganga Estate in Bentota, Light house Hotel in Galle and few more in and around Bentota & Colombo.

• Couldn't visit Sigiriya Rock & Anuradhapura (both World heritage Sites), Nuwara Eliya (A Hill Station nick named as Little England), Yala National Park, Adam's Peak which are still on my list for next trip.

• People are very tourist friendly, helping and HAPPY. As far as i got it, even one with comparatively low income is very satisfied & happy with his life.

• One who is looking for Budget trip like mine should try public transport like Trains & Buses. They have good network. Taxis would cost a lot more.

In the end, don't miss all these places & Plan for more days to actually absorb the real Sri Lanka. :)
