Next day we woke up early had breakfast & went for our gondola ride as we booked tickets online before our trip. Phase -1 Gondola to Kungdoor as it is a time of January one can overwhelmed by the spectacularviewfrom the height of 10168 ft of snow clad peaks ,alpine trees & plethora beauty of Himalayas, snowiest valleys & landscapes. On kungdoor mid- station we settled down forthefamous kashmiri #kawa. We spend almost a day & enjoyed lot of activities famous skiing , snow scooter ride & sledging under the guidance of expert instructors. Cost of expenditure for activities:- Skiing - 1500-2000per person Snow scooter- 1500-2500per person Sledging- 1000 - 2000 Notes:- Book gondola tickets online before your trip. Bargain as much as you can for activities it willhelpyou to save your pocket. Pack woollen clothes ,extra pair of shoes & sunscreen. An umbrella if you visit during Dec - Jan.
Snow point called Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of Afarwat Peak (4,200 m (13,780 ft) .To reach here we have to take the Asia's highest and longest cable car ride, the Gulmarg Gondola----The highlight of Gulmarg.Activities at the point include skiing,sledging,biking.Skiing can be done with the skiing guide.View of LOC (Line Of Control). Coming down from the Gandola trip you can take a pony ride or walk to other nearby places like temple ,park etc.But deal with the horsemen as a package and not as individual trips.ATV's are also there which will cost a fortune for this purpose.Gandola rides needs to be prebooked days before otherwise its all about commission to your tour guide,hotel manager or whoever guides you here.
On day 3, we went to Gulmarg, which took us at least 2.5 hrs. Gulmarg is a very pretty place with snow clad mountains. People come here to enjoy cable car rides, skiing, and other adventure sports. The site is divided into 2 phases. At phase 1, you can have enjoy all kind of snow adventure sports, while phase 2 is mostly famous for valley view and treks. For foodies, there is not much to eat at this point but maggi and Kashmiri kahwah is a must try here. The best part is Gondola ride(cable car ride) which costs you around Rs. 740 for phase 1 and Rs. 950 for phase 2.
